A freestanding STF3080 tower crane from Chinese manufacturer Yongmao was used to successfully install a 5MW wind turbine generator and blades atop a 157.4 metre tower made of concrete in China, with the total lifting height being 180 metres.
The crane’s maximum lifting capacity is 220 tonnes and it can lift to a height of up to 200 metres.
The combined weight of the nacelle and slings exceeded 155 tonnes, with the crane's working range extending approximately 20 metres in radius.
According to Yongmao, dismantling, transportation and re-erecting the crane takes around 60 working hours.
