Swiss crane rental company Interkran has placed an order for 18 Raimondi flat-top tower cranes to support its ongoing fleet expansion programme in response to increased demand in the construction sector.
The order comprises seven MRT159s, five MRT189s, five MRT294s, and one MRT234.
Interkran, which acts as Raimondi’s distributor in Switzerland and operates a fleet of approximately 250 Raimondi cranes, made the purchase to further reinforce its capacity in the regional tower crane rental market.
The company has already received and deployed the first ten cranes, including two MRT294-16t units, seven MRT159-8t cranes and one MRT234.
These have been installed on residential project sites in north-east Switzerland, where efficient assembly and adaptable lifting performance are critical requirements.
Interkran general manager Antonio Teixeira said: “We are reinforcing the company’s ability to support construction projects across the Swiss market by continuing to invest in our fleet with several new Raimondi cranes.”
Teixeira added that the specific crane models were chosen for their lifting capacities, significant load charts, operational versatility, and ease of installation to support a wide range of construction applications.
The remaining eight cranes in the order are expected to be delivered in the coming weeks. These will be used on major infrastructure projects elsewhere in Switzerland, with the aim of increasing the presence of Raimondi cranes on high-profile developments in the country.
Raimondi group CEO Luigi Maggioni said: “The collaboration between Raimondi Cranes and Interkran continues to reflect a shared focus on performance, reliability, and long-term growth within the European heavy lifting industry.”
