The finished crane is going to be shipped and installed at the Iranian South Pars (SP) phases IX-X offshore platform, said Mohammad-Ali Abbaspour, Mangan managing director.
The crane took more than 50,000 man-hours, and its technology was developed by Iranian engineers, Abbaspour said, according to local news source Press TV. One third of the crane’s components were imported.
The crane has been built to prevent sparking.
No information about lifting capacity or dimensions was available at time of going to press.
