IronPlanet appoints new sales director

Rogers has held senior sales management positions at DaimlerChrylser, Toyota, JCB, and most recently Volvo London Truck & Bus.

Tom Cornell, managing director for IronPlanet Europe, said: “We are delighted to welcome Simon to our European sales team. It is a pleasure to bring someone on board with such deep experience in the construction machinery sector and such a varied network of contacts throughout northern Europe.”

Rodgers commented on the appointment: "During my time at JCB and Volvo, I became increasingly aware of IronPlanet as the leading marketplace for used construction machinery."

IronPlanet, which has operations in North America and Asia Pacific, held its first European online auction in early 2009. It has recently expanded its operations to include the Middle East.
