Germany-headquartered heavy haul and lift specialist Kahl Group has enlarged its fleet with the purchase of 38 Goldhofer PST/ES-E self-propelled axle lines. Specifically, it bought 30 type PST/ES-E (315) axle lines and eight PST/ES-E (285) axle lines with variable track widths. Widths of 2,430mm, 3,000mm, 4,900mm, 5,330mm and 6,350mm in coupled combinations are possible, plus unlimited free combinations.
“We opted for the Goldhofer self-propelled modules because they offer unique and unrivalled tractive power and performance, which is essential for our challenging projects,” said Andreas Kahl, managing director of the Kahl Group. “Also of decisive importance for us is the ability of the PST/ES-E (285) modules, with a basic width of 2.43 metres, to widen under load. This enables us to organise our transports even more efficiently and safely.”
The latest addition means, in combination with its existing fleet (including jack-up systems from Greiner, a leading manufacturer of hydraulic lifting equipment) and a 600 tonne capacity G² K 600 high girder bridge (which was created through a collaboration between Goldhofer and Greiner), Kahl Group can now be the sole provider of transport services for payloads up to 10,000 tonnes.
