KATO Works Company has issued a product recall notice on its KR-10H Roughter crane because of faulty transmissions.
Some 1,723 units of this model, also known as the MR-100, were manufactured in the 1990s. Kato believes that inadequate support for certain transmission parts could cause vibrations, leading to fires.
All machines affected by the recall were sold to domestic customers in Japan. Kato said that it had located more than 90% of these and all were still inside Japan.
