Quadro Services specialises in erecting pre-cast concrete structures. The firm has worked on a number of British stadiums, including in Sunderland, Coventry, Leicester City and Swansea. Director Cliff Wright commented that, “The secret is in well-organised logistics and accurate handling on site, which is where the right choice of crane can make all the difference.”

The football club has had a turbulent history, linked in large part to the lack of a suitable stadium for it to play in. Originally Wimbledon FC, it enjoyed 12 years of success in the premiership, the top flight of English football. During this time, it shared a ground with fellow South London team Crystal Palace, in Selhurst Park.

With its fall from the premiership in 2000, and the realisation that its original home in Plough Lane, Wimbledon, was not suitable for redevelopment as a modern stadium, the team’s board took the controversial decision to move 50 miles to Milton Keynes, a unique step for community-based English football, where the team now plays at another temporary home, the UK’s National Hockey Stadium. The new stadium and business complex, which will cost £60m, will seat 35,000 fans and is expected to be completed in July 2007.
