Koeblco has filled an order from Mammoet for six 180t CKE1800 and 23 250t CKE2500-2 crawler cranes.

The large order was initially only for five CKE2500-2 but it was expanded to include an additional 29 cranes for application in global projects.

The original five Kobelco cranes have already began work on the Gorgon offshore LNG (Liquefied Natural Gas) plant, which was in the early stages of construction as of October. Gorgon is the largest LNG Project in Australia.

An additional seven CKE2500-2 are assigned to begin construction of the main processing plant pipework and distribution infrastructure.

Three CKE2500-2 cranes are bound for The Netherlands. These were equipped with a tilt cab, 64m crane boom, 91m long boom, 61m luffing tower boom and 61m luffing jib

The remaining new cranes are headed towards Russia, South America, Middle East, Europe and Australia.

Jan van Seumeren Jr., CTO of Mammoet said: “The reliability and capacity in the 250t class were the key factors for Mammoet in deciding to buy another 23 units of the CKE2500-2 for our worldwide operations.”
