Kobelco Construction Machinery, through its subsidiary in Singapore, is providing machinery and equipment to support relief efforts across the region devastated by the Indian Ocean tsunami that struck on 26 December.
Kobelco and its global alliance partner, CNH Global NV, have pledged 100 million yen (about $1m) worth of aid to the affected areas. The aid includes the supply of operators and engineers.
Exactly what equipment is being sent where is still being determined, through the assessment of local needs.
