UK distributor Kranlyft has launched the tallest Maeda mini-crawler yet, the MC 405, which has a lift height of 16.8m. Maximum capacity is 3.8t. The crane also has a 300kg pick-and-carry duty, which the company claims to be a first for mini-cranes. The MC 405 is available with diesel engine or diesel/electric engine. The Maeda range in Europe now consists of four crawler cranes with outriggers reaching out from the corners of the crane in a spider-type configuration. The first units are expected to arrive in March 2007.

The company has teamed up with Scottish distributor Caledonian Cranes to offer nationwide service across five locations in Great Britain.
“By utilising each of our strategic locations and channelling response through our central freephone number we know we can deliver on our promise of fast response and lower costs,” said John Hornby, director of Kranlyft. The company also announced that Caledonian Cranes has bought an LC 785.
