AB Kranlyft of Sweden will market Maeda’s range of mini crawler cranes throughout Europe.

Maeda claims to have 50.7% of the mini crawler market in its domestic market of Japan, and says the market is growing. In Europe, however, the crab-style mini crawler has yet to catch on and remains rarely seen.

AB Kranlyft is promoting the cranes in Scandinavia, Benelux, Greece, Spain and Portugal, while its subsidiary Kato Cranes (UK) covers the UK, as well as the Irish Republic.

Two models are being particularly promoted, the MC-104C and the MC-305C, designed for operating in confined spaces. The MC-104C is petrol-powered, lifts 1t at 1.1m, and reaches 5.5m. The diesel-powered MC-305C lifts 2.93t at 2.5m, and reaches 12.66m.
