Ebergard Kuhn has retired as chief executive officer of Demag Mobile Cranes. New leadership has been put in place, following the German style of having a management team rather than a single chief officer.

With effect from 01 December 2001, the company is being managed by a triumvirate – Wilfried Hubert, Alexander Knecht and Bernhard Düser.

Hubert remains managing director, finance. Knecht is given board responsibility for engineering, including design, development, production and logistics. Knecht has been with the company for 23 years and has until now been the non-executive head of design and development. He has also been appointed spokesman for the board of directors.

Düser, who has been with the company 22 years, is the director in charge of sales and after-sales service. Following several years in Demag’s development department, Mr. Düser moved to sales and, in 1996, assumed responsibility for sales and after-sales service worldwide.

Kuhn is retiring from the company at the end of the month after 36 years with the company and 12 at the helm.
