The company added the X-HiPro 1058 crane to its heavy range segment, and launched a vehicle featuring its electric power take off (ePTO) handling system for use with its X-192 HiPro loader crane.
The X-HiPro 1058, which will be available to order from the end of the year, has a capacity of 92tm and a vertical outreach of up to 38m with a jib. New features include an integrated subframe at the base of the crane, which combined with auxiliary legs that are fully-integrated into the hydraulic and electric systems helps to reduce installation time.
The 1058 also incorporates improved sequence cylinders, tiltable stabiliser legs, and chain-driven stabiliser span.
Hiab’s ePTO uses an integrated battery with a capacity of 40kWh to enable its X-192 loader crane to work with the engine turned off: reducing energy consumption by 60-70%, noise by 30%, and totally eliminating exhaust fumes.
The complete system was developed in collaboration with Volvo Truck Center Sweden, and combines the Volvo FM (Euro 6) truck mounted with the X-192 crane.
Henric Sundin, chief executive at Volvo Truck Center Sweden, said: "An ePTO crane truck can be used indoors, replacing scissor lifts, sky lifts and forklifts. Being very silent, it can also be used in cities and residential areas during night time."
