The image stirred great interest in me as I asked, “Where in the USA is this?” I later read an article that revealed the image was from Russia. When the largest text other than the title of the magazine reads, “The changing USA”, I would expect to see an image of something in the USA. I don’t mind seeing an image of Russia on the cover, but in that case I suggest decreasing the size of the cover line.

Cranes Today editor Will Dalrymple replies: “Mr Witter has a point—the combination of the image with the large words ‘The Changing USA’ does mislead, in this case. In future months we’ll try to be clearer about what’s on the outside and inside, and how they relate. But, and maybe slightly dishonestly, the cover at least got you to take the magazine out of the wrapper! You can always read a short explanation of the front cover picture on the comment page.”
