After more than four decades at Welham Green near Hatfield, UK, Liebherr-Great Britain has moved some 30 miles or so north onto a 3.7 hectare site at Stratton Business Park, Biggleswade in Bedfordshire, UK.
Liebherr’s new British headquarters represents an investment of more than £15 million.
Liebherr-Great Britain Ltd. is a subsidiary of Liebherr-International AG, Bulle (Switzerland), and provides national sales, service and spares for the Group’s complete range of construction equipment throughout the whole of the British Isles.
As well as a three-storey office building, 5,000 sq m of accommodation has also been created for service, repair, maintenance and equipment testing facilities.

Ainscough Crane Hire Ltd and Liebherr Great Britain Ltd used the inauguration of Liebherr’s new HQ and workshops to announce a £30 million order for 91 cranes for delivery in 2005 and early 2006.
Having completed the largest single order for one mobile crane model – 30 LTM 1055-3.1 cranes in mid 2004 – Ainscough has now placed the largest order by any rental company in Europe with Liebherr.
The order comprises 30 LTM1030-2.1, 38 LTM1055-3.1, and 23 LTM1095-5.1.
