The facility was opened in 1995. For over 10 years, the centre has offered all repair services and provided all replacement parts for Liebherr mobile cranes, especially for customers from northern and eastern Germany. Considerable investments have been made in the plant in the areas of repair services, storage and administration.
In addition to providing direct customer service, the Alt-Bork plant also overhauls used cranes and prepares them for re-sale. The first used crane was delivered in November 1996.
A large number of used cranes have been accepted in part-exchange, predominantly from the German market. Since Liebherr cranes are marketed across the world, customer requests and country-specific requirements must be taken into account individually in all repair and overhaul assignments.
These tasks are highly complex and are carried out by 10 well-trained mechanics. Liebherr said customers from all over the world value and regularly confirm the high quality of the repair work carried out in Alt-Bork.
A total of 32 people are employed at the plant on the Berliner Ring in various capacities, including field service technicians, employees working in the replacement parts depot, despatch personnel, mechanics and administrators. The plant, which is located on a 36,000sq m site, features a large administration area with state-of-the-art equipment as well as a repair workshop measuring 3,500sq m.
Liebherr-Werk Ehingen GmbH supports a worldwide network of service locations for mobile cranes. Every year, substantial financial resources are invested in further expanding the company’s service portfolio.
