The 60t crane was first moved to Stafelalp at an altitude of 1,900m on a low loader, before being driven the remaining 8km to the chairlift station site at Zermatt, at the foot of the Matterhorn mountain. For 2km of this journey, the LTR 1060 navigated a gradient of 45 degrees.
At the job site, the crane first installed the steel structure for the new station, and then positioned the station’s 16t drive engine.
