The German company said the decision had been made because of changing environmental conditions in tower crane target that had been occurring at an increasingly fast pace for several years. In order to remain successful in the market the firm believed that it would need to align internal processes and structures with the requirements of the international market.
Liebherr added that as the division is now exclusively focused on one product area, all activities connected to the development, production and marketing of tower cranes could be bundled more effectively. For this reason, they will also make changes to our organisational structure.
The headquarters of the new division responsible for the tower cranes will remain in Biberach/Riss, Germany.
