Newly introduced award category won by Liebherr.

Liebherr was awarded the prestigious ESTA Award in the newly introduced 'Training' category, highlighting the importance of the topic. The award ceremony took place in Noordwijk, the Netherlands, on April 20th. Liebherr received the recognition for its training concept, which offers target group-specific training to enhance safety in the crane industry and support job development. The European association for the abnormal road transport and mobile crane rental industry (ESTA) introduced the 'Training' category this year to emphasize its significance.

Liebherr, based in Ehingen (Donau), Germany, offers a diverse range of courses in various formats to cater to crane operators, dispatchers, and workshop personnel worldwide. The company's objective is to provide comprehensive training to crane industry employees, thereby promoting safety and accident-free operations. Liebherr's commitment to training extends not only to its own employees but also to its customers, emphasizing the safe and efficient use of their cranes to ensure maximum availability.

Christoph Kleiner, Managing Director Sales at Liebherr-Werk Ehingen, expressed the company's dedication to training and its importance in their business model. They have adapted and expanded their learning methods, including digital formats, during the pandemic. These methods have reached beyond crane drivers, targeting new groups of learners. Furthermore, Liebherr has established training centres globally and incorporated digital training within their MyLiebherr customer platform.

According to Christoph Behmu¨ller, head of the training department at Liebherr in Ehingen, finding and developing skilled workers has become increasingly challenging. Therefore, Liebherr aims to support its customers in employee development. They have devised a new concept that offers training for three areas: mobile crane operators, dispatchers, and workshop personnel. Each target group is provided with a digital e-learning course as a foundation, followed by practical training weeks in Liebherr's training departments worldwide, where specific equipment and controls are studied in-depth.

Liebherr sets a new standard in the crane industry by focusing on qualified personnel who understand the responsibility associated with mobile crane handling and operation. Their goal is to achieve zero accidents in the industry. The company offers comprehensive training for crane operators, dispatchers, and workshop personnel. Liebherr's training program includes e-learning courses for flexible and independent learning, face-to-face training sessions conducted by certified trainers worldwide, and live streaming options for remote participation, ensuring the highest industry standards and knowledge transfer.
