The system is designed for specialist users who want to be able to be able to regularly move a single RT crane between a series of jobs on the same day. Whereas normal transport of an RT crane would involve using a trailer, the Pin ‘n’ Go system makes it possible to tow an RT behind a standard tractor. For these users, the system’s low gross vehicle weight – up to 10 US tons lighter than using a semi-trailer – makes it possible to transport an RT crane without special permits. As a trained user can attach and detach the Pin ‘n’ Go system within 15 minutes, time is not wasted between jobs.
The system essentially slings a crane between a tractor and a wheeled back end. Gooseneck attachments connect to either end of the crane. The first of these is then attached to the tractor, and the second to the back end, which is available in a range of axle and suspension configurations.
