The PowerLift system is being included as standard on many of it series starting this January, 2011. All cranes from series LC500, LC1100, LC1600, LC2100 and LC3000 from will incorporate the new feature.

Linden Comansa’s R & D team created the Powerlift by developing a means of automatically reducing the speed of trolley and hoist to enable movement of larger loads to longer distances on the jib.

Linden Comansa explained that the capacity improvement applies to a given range of capacities below the maximum load capacity: “This system does not allow the crane to have bigger maximum load capacity, but allows an increase of 10% in the rated load that appears in the load charts up to the maximum load according to the data sheet, in the same way it allows to displace the same maximum load to major reach.”

Linden Comansa offered an example of the system: its 21 LC 400, a tower crane with a lifting capacity of 18t and a jib length of 80m, can lift the same amount at longer reach.

The 21 LC 400 can normally load 18t up to a reach of 16.6m. With the PowerLift system, the crane will be able to load the same 18t capacity up to a reach of 18m.

This applies to the furthest reaches. If a crane can load up to 3t at the jib end, with the PowerLift system it will be able to load 3.3t.
