“Link-Belt plans to launch a larger crawler crane next year at Conexpo. We’ll introduce a crane bigger than our 348 in the desert,” said Collins. No other details were available at press date.
US crane rental company All Erection has taken the first Link-Belt 80 US ton 138 HSL crawler crane. Like the 110 US ton-capacity 218 HSL launched at ConExpo, this crane has wet brakes, the newest HSL load limiter, new cab and counterweight removal plus a 284 hp Isuzu engine.
“Along with bridge work and steel erection, the 138’s in the past have been very strong in oil field work as well, supporting the mobilization and demobilization of the drillworks, and I expect that to continue with the our new model ,” said lattice crane product manager Pat Collins.
