The US-based company is expecting to have it, and 65 US ton (60t) RTC-8065 CE-marked in about 12 months, with help from certification body TUEV. It plans to have a dealer network in place at the same time, says Link-Belt telescopic cranes product specialist Kelly Fiechter.

Link-Belt’s model boasts a 9m turning radius at the edge of the tyre, thanks to steerable Kessler rear axles. The 14m-long crane has steerable rear axles, transverse differential locks and four steering modes: independent front, independent rear, combination and crab.

The 8690 features a five-section, 42.7-m (140-ft) formed latching boom. Maximum tip height is 72.2 m (237 ft) with two 4.9-m (16-ft) lattice inserts between the boom head and the optional 10.7–17.7-m (35–58-ft), bi-folding lattice.

The crane can be specced with single or dual-axis joysticks, and features a Greer Micro-Guard load moment indicator.
