UK lifting equipment and services company Lloyds Equipment Group has changed its name to Lloyds British Group, in recognition of the strong market acceptance of the Lloyds British name.

Lloyds Equipment Group was created in 1999 when the management team, backed by venture capitalists, bought the equipment hire division of Lloyds British Testing from KCI Konecranes. The following year the new company bought the rest of the Lloyds business, including fabrication, installation and testing operations. This side of the business continued to be called Lloyds British. Now the whole group is held under Lloyds British banner.

In a separate move, managing director Ian White has assumed the title of chief executive, while Graham Osmond becomes managing director hire & sales and Trevor Dale is now managing director engineering services.

Joining the board are Colin Naylor, who becomes associate director hire & sales, and Barry Mercer, who has been appointed associate director engineering services.
