Locatelli’s new UK distributor, Valla Cranes UK, is exhibiting the ATC 20 city class mobile crane (20t capacity) at the SED exhibition this month, 17-19 May. The crane was launched at Bauma 2001 but this is the first time it has been shown in the UK. After SED the crane will be taken on a 30 day demonstration tour to potential customers around the UK.

The ATC 20 has a six-section telescopic boom with a maximum tip height of 34m. Both axles are driven and steer. The crane has a 176kW Euro 3 Iveco diesel engine, hydrostatic transmission and hydrogas suspensions. Maximum travel speed is 71km/h. Attachments such as working platform and forks are available to add to the machine’s versatility. Chassis length is 6.36m and height is less than 2.9m.

This model was also shown by Locatelli at the Smopyc fair Zaragoza, Spain in March in the colours of customer Gruas Fam.

The ATC 20 can also be seen this month on Locatelli’s stand at the Samoter fair in Verona, Italy (4-8 May), alongside its new top of the range 60t rough terrain crane (CT March 2005, p38).

Also making its UK debut at SED this month is Hitachi-Sumitomo’s new 40t telescopic boom crawler, the SCX400T, which will be on the stand of distributor NRC (see pXX for further details).
