The Contracting Authority is seeking to procure a framework of civil engineering contractors (the Contractors) to design and/or construct and/or remove the civil engineering and substructure works for a number of venues and other facilities and sites (the Works). The scope of the framework will enable the Contracting Authority to call off all or some of the following: the design, construction, and/or removal and/or reuse or recycling (by the same contractor) of the civil engineering, substructure, and below-ground service installations on a number of venues and facilities and locations for the London 2012 Olympic Games and Paralympic Games (the Games). The anticipated timescales for the framework are as follows:1. Design and installation period: 2009 – 2012;2. Legacy removal period: 2012 – 2013.
In addition to the brief description of the content above, the selected contractor(s) will need to interface and co-ordinate with other works packages including (but not limited to) structural frame and cladding works, building services, temporary accomodation and general builders’ works.More detailed information on the scope is available in Part 4 of 4 Project Information. The Contracting Authority may make this framework available to other entities, including the London Organising Committee of the Olympic Games (LOCOG). Therefore, whilst no commitment of any sort is given in relation to any or the amount of work that Contractors may receive from the framework, if these other entities do decide to use this framework (or the Contracting Authority does on their behalf), then the amount of work available to Contractors could be greater than currently envisaged.More information about the Games and Paralympic Games is available at www.london2012.com.
