UK lifting contractor Baldwins put its 1,000t capacity Liebherr LTM 11000 D mobile crane to work last November lifting 10t air conditioning units onto the roof of a superstore in western England.
Such a big crane was needed for the job because it was operating at a radius of 110m. The crane was rigged with 54.3m of main boom at an angle of 52o and 77m of luffing jib. Two lifts were carried out over two days by Baldwins Heavy Crane Division.
The LTM 11000 D is a superlift version of the standard production, eight-axle, 800t-capacity LTM 1800.
