Developer Creative Business Solutions (CBS) has developed the module in response to the risks posed by operators overriding safety controls in order to carry loads that are to high for the distance they are reaching.
The module allows users to see a plan drawing of the site with loads presented at each position of the crane hook and concentric circles indicating allowable values. The information used in MéthoCAD is supplied by manufacturers, which CBS says allows the system to accurately represent the capacities of different models.
CBS says mobile cranes are often overlooked when planning a site, even though users plan the position of tower cranes in advance.
The mobile crane module is the 20th module developed for MéthoCAD, which is celebrating its 20th birthday in 2009.
