The actions, presented at the associations’ joint political summit held in Brussels, include devising smart regulation for smart machine technology; creating a true and reliable ‘Digital Single Market’; using relevant EU tools and programmes to incentivise digital technology investment in agriculture and construction; improving broadband infrastructure in rural and urban Europe for rapidly-growing data flows; and supporting and encouraging the development of digital skills.
At the summit, a group of young engineers also showcased a range of innovative industry projects, to illustrate the future of the sectors.
