The Port of Antwerp is home to the largest integrated oil and chemical cluster in Europe. The area has recently secured the biggest investment in the European chemical industry in the past two decades, with plans for a €3bn propane dehydrogenisation (PDH) plant and an ethane cracker unit to be built.
In addition to the new dockside location, Mammoet has invested heavily in new equipment and professionals to ensure they are well equipped to service customers in this growing sector.
The fleet at Mammoet Belgium’s new location will include new cranes ranging from 40t to 500t, tower cranes and SPMTs, followed by an expansion of the Antwerp workforce.
Furthermore, a strategic decision was made to locate the facility on the harbour with load-in/load-out facilities. This, combined with the enhanced availability of equipment, will considerably reduce mobilisation time and associated costs leading to a more efficient and streamlined service.
