The crane is being set up in Amsterdam, Netherlands for its first lift next week.
The LTM 11200-9.1 crane has an eight-section, 100m-boom, although with fly jibs maximum system length is 182m. A Y-shaped superlift assembly helps raise capacity at longer boom lengths. According to Liebherr, a major advantage of the telescopic boom is that it requires very much less rigging space than a conventional boom formed from separate sections.
Other customers expecting deliveries in the next few months are Dubai-based Al Faris, van Marwijk of the Netherlands, Gruas Roxu and Transbiaga of Spain, and UK firm Windhoist/McNally.
“The Liebherr LTM 11200-9.1 is in a class of its own with superb duties ideally suited to wind farm work,” said Cathal McNally. “We confidently expect this crane to increase our productivity and enable us to work with the turbine manufacturers to erect larger, more efficient wind turbines.”
