All CLT’s work under the EnCORE program would be carried out at the firm’s workshop near Johannesburg. The workshop can accommodate at least eight cranes under roof at any one time and includes a boom repair bay.
Gilberto Ferreira, global EnCORE general manager at Manitowoc, said: "Customers expect support, particularly from a local company that has the official backing of Manitowoc Crane Care. We are delighted to add CLT to the program, which not only brings Manitowoc closer to its dealers, but can attract more work to their business."
The American manufacturer said that in order to qualify for the EnCORE program, dealers had to invest considerable time in training technical staff, as well as adding a trained structural engineer to its staff.
The EnCORE partner program began in 2011 in the U.S. Manitowoc said that the success of the program in North America has allowed them to expand the service around the world. In January 2013 Danish company UN Mobilkraner became the first EMEA business to be added to the program.
CLT offers crane sales and services to customers in South Africa, Swaziland, Lesotho, Botswana, Namibia, Zimbabwe, Zambia, Madagascar, Mozambique and Malawi.
