Rob Giebel has taken over as Ron Schad’s successor as executive vice president and general manager of Manitowoc Cranes. He began work at Manitowoc on 7 August.

Giebel, aged 41, joins Manitowoc from P&H Mining’s MinePro Services division, where he was general manager. Before that, he was president and CEO of Unit Rig, a division of Terex which manufactures off-highway trucks for the mining industry. He has also worked for Leer, JI Case, Nestlé Foods, and Proctor & Gamble. Schad quit Manitowoc in May to head up the buyout team of Essex Crane Rental.

An interview with Ron Schad is featured in the July 2000 issue of Cranes Today.
