Isle of Man, UK-based crane rental company Mann Crane Hire has added a 50-tonne capacity GMK3050-3 all-terrain crane to its fleet. The company took delivery of the crane at the Vertikal Days tradeshow in the UK in September.

The Grove GMK3050-3 is a compact three-axle crane with a maximum capacity of 50t and a 40m main boom. Manufacturer Manitowoc says this makes it well-suited for projects in urban environments and on tight jobsites.

With a carrier length of only 8.94m, and a compact outrigger base of 6.8 × 6.2m, the crane offers maneuverability without compromising lifting performance, Manitowoc adds. It has a single 7.5t counterweight configuration designed to simplify logistics, while the 12t axle load allows for higher travel speeds on UK roads.

The GMK3050-3 also comes equipped with Grove’s CONNECT telematics system.

“Our positive experience with the GMK3060L-1 made this an easy decision,” says Chris Barnes, owner and managing director of Mann Crane Hire. “The GMK3050-3 enhances our flexibility in urban environments and fills an important gap between 40 and 60t.”

The new crane fits into Mann Crane Hire’s existing fleet of 40–100t cranes.
