The crane shall have a telescopic, extending, or knuckle boom configuration.
The aft cranes will be capable of: (a) transferring a maximum of 30,000lbs of cargo from ship to shore at a maximum reach of 70ft; (b) launching and retrieving from the water a Landing Craft Vehicle Personnel (LCVP) that is 36ft in length, 11ft beam, and weighs 26,000lbs fully loaded from a radius of 25ft; (c) launching and retrieving from the water an Arctic Survey Boat (ASB) that is 39ft in length, 12ft beam, and weighs 25,000lbs fully loaded from a radius of 27ft; (d) servicing a flight deck hatch at a radius of 45ft; and (e) servicing a storage container that is located on the starboard side of the vessel at a radius of 64ft. All cranes shall be located in the same position as the current cranes.
