Mediaco president Christian-Jacques Vernazza told Cranes Today that the deal, “Strengthens the already number one Mediaco network in France, by purchasing the number three in France, with 24 new complementary agencies, 150 cranes from 20 to 500 tons capacity, and 1,000 pieces of equipment. We will become a leader with 80% market shares in East and South West France. We will have a European leading size company in the crane lifting industry, with 700 cranes from 30 to 1,200 tons capacity, with a global turnover of EUR300m, and a leading position in France and North African countries.”

Vernazza told Cranes Today that the Sogecofa brand will be kept, and the firm will operate as an affiliated, but indepedent, business. Michel Licausi will stay with the business as managing director of Sogecofa and a member of the Mediaco board in charge of Mediaco’s development in eastern France.

Vernazza added, “Mediaco is considering an increase of its market shares in France, Africa and Eastern European countries. New international developments will come in Tunisia, Libya, Senegal, Oman and Romania.”
