Birmingham-based stonemason Yardley Memorials used the mini crawler crane to carry out the work, which it said had previously been hard to do due to the confined nature of graveyards and the weight of the Victorian headstones.

Peter McMahon, owner of Yardley Memorials, said: “What started out as a mammoth task was actually made very easy when we discovered GGR’s mini cranes.

“They were ideal for picking up and resetting the stones in what is quite a confined space.”

GGR’s CEO Graeme Riley said the job was a first for the company’s mini cranes, but could pave the way for more in the same vein. “We have never supplied machinery for anything like this before but I’m confident that we’ll provide many more as this has proved to be yet another niche perfect for GGR’s versatile equipment.”
