The British Ministry of Defence has purchased a fleet of Japanese Unic minicranes from Unic Cranes Europe, part of GGR Group, to do lifting for the British Forces.

UK-based dealer GGR Group represents the Japanese brand Unic in Europe, and also supplies vacuum lifters and pick and carry cranes.

A number of 2.9t Unic URW-376 mini cranes were delivered in recent weeks.

The new URW-376 minicranes have been modified to make them fit for military use, GGR Group said.

After being built, the Unic URW-376 minicranes underwent a thorough testing procedure to ensure that they met with the Ministry of Defenses' strict standards.

The Ministry of Defense's cranes were on display at Unic's stand at the regional UK trade show, Vertikal Days 2012, in June.

GGR Group painted the Unic URW-376 mini cranes sold to the MOD a camouflage green.
