AIR SUSPENSION is now a standard feature on six Link-Belt telescopic truck crane models. It is already used on the HTC-8640 and HTC-8640 Heavy Lift models (Riding on air Oct00, p35) and now the HTC-8650, HTC-8660, HTC-8670 and the HTC-8670 Long Boom will have it.
Improved ride and handling are primary advantages of the system, fitted to the rear axle bogie’s beam type suspension. For pick and carry work the air bag springs are deflated so the carrier frame rests on the solid suspension. Inflation and deflation is controlled from a switch in the cab.
