Tennessee-based SpanDeck has added a new 30 US ton (27.4t) model to its Mantis range of telescopic crawlers.

The Mantis 6010 is being promoted for its compactness, measuring just under 3m wide and 2.9m high. A low profile version, the 6010 LP, is also available and stands just 2.39m high.

In both versions it has a three-section, 9.7m to 24.4m full power synchronised main boom. A 6.1m or 12.2m (bi-fold) swingaway jib is offered as an option. Among the comprehensive instrumentation, a PAT DAS 150 load moment indicator is fitted as standard.

The crane can lift 1,160kg through 360O at the maximum working radius of 22.9m, which is achieved by laying the fully telescoped boom flat out.

The first two Mantis 6010s are in service with Scott-Macon Ltd of Houston, Texas and three units have been ordered by Scott Construction Equipment of Baton Rouge, Louisiana. Other orders include one from Alabama Power for a machine equipped with both auger and hydraulic tool reel.
