Spanish manufacturer Imenosa SA has built a pair of dockside cranes, to be used at coal handling facilities at the ports of Patache and Mejillones in Chile.

The transportation contract was awarded to Mammoet of the Netherlands, which put into action its Happy Rover, a newly built vessel of which it took delivery just last August. The trip from the port of Ferrol in Spain to Chile, via the Panama Canal, was one of its first voyages.

Pre-carriage of the cranes from Imenosa’s yard to the loading quay was carried out by Mammoet Stoof VoF, using self-propelled modular trailers.

Happy Rover’s own lifting gear has a capacity of 800t.
