Four new cranes have arrived at the UK’s National Construction College East, part of the Construction Industry Training Board, based in Bircham Newton, near King’s Lynn in Norfolk.

The new cranes are part of the college’s scheduled plant replacement programme to bring its equipment up to date for the three crane courses that the college runs.

The new cranes are a Liebherr 132 ECH Tower Crane, which has a maximum lifting capacity of 10t, a Demag AC30 city crane, a 30t Liebherr LTM 1030/2 all terrain, and an 80t Kobelco CKE 800 crawler crane. The Kobelco is the largest crane that the college has ever owned.

Ian Crisp, plant senior instructor at the National Construction College East, commented: “These cranes are high specification machines that will enable our trainees to undertake first class training in an area of construction that is extremely skilled. I am expecting an extremely positive response from the trainees.”
