ACCESS hoist manufacturer Geda Dechentreiter GmbH has opened a new 4,200m2 manufacturing plant in Gera, Germany.

The new production site, which cost E3.5m, employs 40 people and manufactures mainly façade climbing equipment and suspended work platforms for Germany and abroad.

Production technology includes a laser machine for profiling round tubing, robot welding machines, and CNC milling machines. The company claims that it can now manufacture to order and deliver within one week. It has also set up an R&D department.

With the parent firm in Asbach-Bäumenheim, Bavaria, a branch office in Bergkamen, North Rhine-Westphalia, and the new manufacturing site in Gera, Thuringia, Geda has 170 employees.
