UK based heavy transportation specialist Collett & Sons has opened a new heavy lift storage facility, the Elland Depot Complex. It is located between Halifax and Huddersfield, near junction 24 of the M62 for convenient access and connectivity.

The new heavy lift internal storage area spans an additional 750 square metres to the existing 3800 square metres at Collett’s depot, providing a secure and efficient environment for storing valuable heavy lift cargo.

At the heart of the facility is a brand new 25 tonne capacity overhead gantry crane with a height under hook of seven metres for oversize cargo. Additional gantry cranes ranging between five to 32 tonnes in capacity are available.

The facility is equipped with drive-in roller shutter doors, each measuring 5.5 metres in width and six metres in height, ensuring ease of entry and exit for out-of-gauge cargo.

The facilities at the Elland Depot Complex can be rented on a square-meterage basis, or as build-up or testing areas including crane usage and power.

The new heavy lift warehouse complies with all current environmental and sustainability requirements.

“We are delighted to announce the opening of our new heavy lift storage facility at the Elland Depot Complex,” said Michael Harland, sales director at Collett & Sons. “This significant investment and expansion highlights our dedication to providing a comprehensive and bespoke service for our client base”.

To launch the facility Collett was joined by Bradford City Football Club manager Mark Hughes to cut the ribbon along with Mick Harland, sales director and David Collett, managing director.
