Italian mini crane manufacturer Jekko has launched a new truck-mounted mini crane: the TRX80.

It has a lifting capacity of eight tonnes and a maximum outreach of 27.2 metres. It is mounted on a compact two-axle truck. The compact nature of the chassis and mini crane enable the TRX80’s overall weight to be under eight tonnes. This, says Jekko, means it can operate on lightweight surfaces and in areas with restricted access – making it suitable for fast lifting operations such as the installation of steel or timber structures or the positioning of HVAC units.

The TRX80 offers fully electric crane operation. Powered by a 48V lithium battery it is capable of ensuring a full working day with zero emissions.

The battery can be recharged via the vehicle’s Power Take-Off (PTO) or through an external power supply (both single-phase and three-phase).

Hydraulic outriggers, with stepless extension and rotation, allow any positioning configuration. The outriggers have a maximum footprint of 4.6 x 4.6 metres. Integrated pressure sensors on each outrigger enable continuous monitoring of the ground load.

The TRX80’s main boom has a reach of 20 metres. With a jib the reach increases to 27.2 metres. The TRX80 has a maximum working radius of 24.3 metres. It can be used with a 3,500kg runner jib or a 1,500kg hydraulic jib which can be installed without the need for external equipment.

The jib also allows operation at negative angles down to -60°.

As standard with Jekko minicranes the TRX is equipped with safety systems including a Load Moment Indicator, a proportional radio remote control, and a 7” onboard touchscreen display (with real-time visualisation of the load chart and stability area). The system also integrates interactive assistance, self-diagnosis, and troubleshooting functions.

The TRX80 will debut at the Smopyc exhibition in Zaragoza, Spain, at the Transgruas stand (AES23), from April 15 to 18, 2026.
