The Start–Smart ignition system replaces a traditional ignition key with a sealed and potted keypad and electronics, which is enabled by code or an RFID card.
The operator inputs their code or passes their RFID card over the system, which, if accepted, allows them to start the engine.
Users can be programmed in and out of the system database manually or using a USB connection. The USB version can be used to set expiry dates for recurrent training or rental yards, as well as to store start/stop time/date stamps to evaluate machine usage.
Start-Smart ignition systems measure 3.5x3in and can be retrofitted to any internal combustion or electric vehicle.

Start-Smart ignition systems are also available in an anti-theft version that includes a wireless relay hidden in the ignition, starter or fuel pump circuit. The wireless relay is only enabled when the operator has successfully accessed the system, and without enabling the relay, the engine cannot be started.
