Rigging and engineering specialist Team Heavylift International has merged with shipping and transportation company Wagenborg Group. Both companies are based in the Netherlands.
Team was previously owned mostly by its directors, with a significant minority stake held by UK haulier Heinor Haulage.
Wagenborg, which has 1,800 staff compared with about 20 at Team, has now taken a majority share in the company.
Wagenborg’s diverse activities also include special and heavy transport, stevedoring, rigging and mobile crane rental.
In a joint statement the companies said: “By acquiring the majority shareholding of Team, the merger not only enhances the quality and growth potential of Team Heavylift but at the same time enables Royal Wagenborg to respond to the ever increasing demand to offer a total and global project logistics concept.”
