The OSPE unit features OSP steering technology and an integrated electrohydraulic steering valve that Sauer-Danfoss said simplifies hydraulic system architecture. It can be highly integrated into steering systems, reducing the need for additional components, and providing OEMs with ‘a complete package; designed, developed and tested for optimal performance’.
Sauer-Danfoss added the OSPE steering unit includes selectable reactive and non-reactive steering modes, load sensing and open center options, variable steering ratio and a ‘safe state’. The ‘safe state’ feature allows the electrohydraulic section of the steering valve to be isolated and the steering system protected in the event of an electronic or hydraulic malfunction.
These features, Sauer-Danfoss said, allow the OSPE unit to meet the latest safety standards and regulations, such as ISO 25119 and the Machinery Directive 2006/42/EC.
“Today’s vehicles require versatile solutions that increase productivity, reduce operator fatigue and provide a safe, comfortable working environment,” said Tom Rudolph, product portfolio manager at Sauer-Danfoss.
“With the new OSPE steering unit we are able to introduce a range of features that help improve vehicle performance and operator comfort, while facilitating compliance with the safety demands of Machinery Directive 2006/42/EC.”
