The units were sold to South African transport organisation Rotran Heavy Transport, a subsidiary of the energy company Eskom, to move electric transformers.

The units pull two 11-axle platform trailers and a beam assembly in order to carry the 270t transformers. The convoy, adapted to the length and the weight of the transformers to be shipped, will be 125 m long and will weigh 700 metric tons.

The tractors feature V12 Caterpillar 3412E engines that produce 3,460 Nm at 1,400 rpm, or 912 horsepower at 2,100 rpm. It also features a twelve-speed (eight forward) Dana Spicer powershift transmission and Renault cab.
