"We are thrilled to be partnering up with Grizzly Crane to help service the fast growing Tumbler Ridge and Chetwynd markets," said Ted Redmond, president and CEO of NCSG (formerly known as Northern Crane). "There are numerous mining, wind and shale gas projects both starting-up and ongoing in this region and our goal is to continue to be a major participant in those projects."

Will Howe will remain with the company as branch manager of NCSG/Grizzly Crane. "Our local employees will continue to provide outstanding service to our many loyal customers in the region," said Howe. "With access to the NCSG safety and engineering team and its fleet of over 250 cranes, 170 lines of platform trailers, 200 trailers and 65 tractors we will be able to meet all of our customers’ project, turnaround, and maintenance crane rental and heavy haul needs."

In 2008 the company purchased Mullen Crane & Transport in Idaho, which expanded the company’s business into the US. The company has also made a series of purchases of lifting and transport firms in the oil-rich region of Canada around Alberta.
